Gweneviere began studying music at the age of 8. Born into a musical family, her first love was classical piano, which she studied for 6 years before discovering her voice at the age of 14. In high school she performed in several school productions, and was a member of the state-champion Santa Rosa High School A Cappella Choir.
Following high school, Gweneviere attended the Musician’s Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, California. There she got her first taste of writing music and studio recording. She graduated at the head of her class with Honors, and was recipient of the Outstanding Student Award for her graduating class. She was featured as the Shure award recipient in Guitar and Bass magazines.
Upon graduation she relocated to San Francisco, California where she began writing and recording with local producers, and at the same time perfecting her craft by performing with various local bands. In 1996 she joined funk/rock group Spunjunket, whom she wrote and performed with for several years. In December 1999 Spunjunket released their debut CD, Humans.
In 2000 Gweneviere went on tour as a background singer for Grammy Award winner, Shelby Lynn performing on such shows as “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and the nationally syndicated “E-Town Live”. Following her tour, Gweneviere joined 6-piece jazz/latin a cappella group RoShamBo whom she performed with until her relocation to New York City in 2002. Following her relocation, Gweneviere was awarded a performance scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston to study vocal performance and songwriting.
